Killer Toast, I'm with you - chill-strategy. I'm getting tired of the spinning cycle of negative people with same statements
(I haven’t heard one decent comment, why we cannot do this) and take this so personal.
Let the low-priced-runners run their business and we keep up with the
high-priced business and the academy. What have you got to lose? It's a free world and
the customer will choose the service he wants.
So Toast.. you get the sausages and I'll run for the sticks. Meet me at ascalon
d1 at the campfire. Lets have a barbequ, once and for all.
I even quote myself again..

1. How "bad" the academy is.
2. We charge too much

I can't figure out why people take this so personal? When you have
NO clue what we can offer?
Has the negative comments changed anything?
1. The academy is even more popular (daily new applications)
2. The customers is coming in as normal
3. Accepting new tuitions several times a week.
4. God seems to like LBSRA.
I can only come to the conclusion that instead of giving a bad
name to the academy it seems to backfire and reinforce the good
reputation that LBS and the new breed of elite runners in LBSRA have, as for myself. (oh crap, I'm arrogant to?!)
Seriously, if you don't believe in yourself, you won't progress in any
game or in real life.

I have to agree... some people in this thread seem impervious to logic.

Distributed System Analyst/Sys-Admin. Yes, I make good bucks, but you're right about this being irrelevant here (we all have to make a living). You can reply about your job if you like... I'm being truthful about mine.
I can't say where I work without violating policy, so the best thing I can say is that it's the typical, high politics corporate environment.

No affiliation with LBSRA. I've done a few trades with LBS, but that's about it.
EDIT: I'll apologize now for sounding very edgy... it's been a slow day at work (drives me nuts occasionally).

Your huge ass specialised running guilds have too much overhead. I could shut you down and run for free. Thats a chinese war strategy. Fear my tactics
Seriously though, even though i find an academy for this overkill..people are free to do what they want. Including charging ten million gold for a drok run. If you dont want to give them business then dont.
Dont even go the "ethics" route because its just a game to begin with. People play to have fun and none of you have any right to judge for someone else whats morally wrong..even as ludicrous as that sounds in a virtual world. If you hang out in low arenas and the twinks piss you off then what the hell are you doing in those arenas to begin with. For new guys its a lesson on the lameness of certain people and it force feeds them to try new skills and move on in the game.
Im not sure if the ethics arguement was related to the price of the run or the idea behind running itself but considering there are 230 pages to look through i personally dont care.
If any of you ever want to race me give me a pm. Rules are:
No weapon/shield
All skill
10k betting minimum
Available weekends

Believe it or not, I agree! GW is a virtual world... there's no sense of right or wrong so long as you don't violate the EULA. People are free to spend their hard-earned virtual money as they see fit, whether to enroll in a runner's academy or pay a Droks taxi-fee.
As for me, I find UW ecto farming 500% more profible, so I've shelved all running activities for now...

Want to point me to the places where I have said that three times? I recall mentioning it once by way of apology to explain why I was unavailable for a period of time (consumed with a career-critical trial). I may have said it more than once, but I don't recall it.
Why not talk about my logical arguments? By avoiding any effort to refute me and focusing instead on how many times people have mentioned my real life profession (which is itself relevant to some discussions, but how often it has been mentioned seems irrelevant to anything at all), I take it that you are conceding that the substance of my arguments are unassailable. Thanks for that capitulation.
I don't mind feeding the trolls at all, because the comments are humorous and they keep the thread bumped. PT Barnum always said: "I don't care what you say about me, as long as you spell my name right." I suppose there is some wisdom in that, at least the trolls generate interest and increase the general level of awareness of this premium service.

FYI gerb i was one of the FIRST to join this "academy", if thats what you want to call it. I was greatly dissapointed, all i got was an ordinary build, nothing special about it. After we enrolled she told us that it was a "teach yourself course" - LBS, im paraphrasing there, this is just a huge scam. Just my 2 cents, flame me, because i dont give a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO.

First of all be nice to toast, i wont have you being mean to a borderline retarded guy, that happens to be the coolest borderline retard i now. Secondly, just because you thought it was a bad decision doesnt mean everybody else does. Toast is right, most people have brains, they can view things differently. And toast, you are a purple orangutang noob who sucks at rock paper scissors.

Why does everyone of the critics seem to think that Beacons to Drok is the only thing in the game?
Go back and read the first couple of posts, pay attention to the line that states we do very few of those basic runs anymore. Sure, many dual teams can finish the runs. Why even try to compete with people who are content at earning such a pittance? If anyone from the academy has a few hours to kill and wants to make some pocket change making a few runs there they're more than welcome to. And a good number do from time to time. But the fact is our clients want more than that, and have no issue with paying our rates. Obviously there are people who prefer to pay a bit more for exceptional service.
As long as the market supports those rates, they will stay. Bitching and whining about them only makes you look silly. No one forced any of the members to join, and no one forces any of our clients to pay. It's all done because that person wants to.
